I'm so excited!

I am so excited! My Mum and Step-Dad moved to France four years ago, just before my son was born, and today they move back to the UK - hooray!!

Also, I've got a job. I'm going to be a Postwoman delivering post on Saturday mornings.

Oldie but a Goodie - Francesca's Sketch

Good morning!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Today see's my last challenge at Oldie but a Goodie as I have made the difficult decision to step down from the Design Team. I have really enjoyed my time with Oldie but a Goodie working with the fabulously talented ladies on the team.

The challenge this week has been chosen by Francesca and she has this wonderful sketch for you to follow.

Don't forget, the aim of the challenge is to use RUBBER STAMPS that are OVER SIX MONTHS OLD. I've used stamps from a Stampin' Up set called "Playful Petals" and a sentiment from the Stampin' Up set "Best Yet".

I would like to thank my blogging buddies for the amazing Christmas Cards I received. They are truly wonderful.

Lastly, may I wish you a Happy New Year and all the very best for 2011.

Oldie But a Goodie DT Card - You're a Star

Good morning,

It's time for another challenge at Oldie but a Goodie. It's my turn to set this fortnight's theme and I've chosen:-

"You're a Star"
(We want to see at least one star somewhere on your creation)

Don't forget, the aim of this challenge is to use rubber stamps that are over six months old. I have used a Stamps Happen stamp called "Floating Softly". I've coloured the image with Prismacolor Pencils blended with Sansador and I've added lots of glitter (which, of course, you can hardly see!).

It's also my turn to sponsor the prize. I've gone for a male theme - a set of Elusive Images stamps and some nautical charms.

We also have a Guest Designer call, if you are interested, just enter GD after your name when you link your entry. The GD's for January and February will be announced on the 28th December.

I do hope you can join us this fortnight.

Cuddly Buddly Challenge - The Icing's on the Card

Good morning to you!

Today sees another challenge over at Cuddly Buddly and the theme is "The Icing's on the Card".

I have used the gorgeous Toby Tumble "Lets go Sledging". The sentiment has been heat embossed with sparkly embossing powder which looks lovely IRL, unfortunately it just looks yellow in the photo - oh well, it seems like a good idea at the time!

I've added lots of Glamour Dust and Stickles for the "icing".

I would like to enter this card into the challenge at Top Tip Tuesday where they are asking you to use ribbon on your project - thanks Vee!

Have a great day!

Papertake Weekly and Passion for Promarkers

Good afternoon!

My card today is for two challenges:-

Papertake Weekly - Red and Green must NOT be seen
and
Passion for Promarkers - "Anything Goes"

A clean and simple card using a "Shortie" the penguin image called "With all our Hearts". I've coloured with Promarkers I won from the Penny Black Saturday challenge - thank you Penny Black team!

I've embossed with Cuttlbug "Swiss Dots" and "Snowflakes" embossing folders and added some ribbon from my stash.

I hope you are all having a good week and are keeping warm and well.

Hugs, Clare x

Edit:- Thanks Danielle for reminding me that the theme at Winter Wonderland is "Penguins or Polar Bears", that makes it three challenges I am entering!

Sir Stampalot December Challenge - "Travel the World"

Good morning to you. It's first of December and time for another challenge at Sir Stampalot.  This month our theme is:-

"Travel the World"

For my card, I took a piece of glossy white card and stamped Crafty Individuals postmark stamps all over it using Versamark Ink. I then brayered over with Big and Juicy "Soothing Sunset". The images are from the Crafty Individuals "People and Places 2" book.

Our generous sponsors, Sir Stampalot, are offering another fantastic prize for this month's winner.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us last month and I hope you are inspired to join us this month.

Oldie but a Goodie DT - Christmas Birthday

Good morning and welcome to another challenge at Oldie but a Goodie. This week's theme, chosen by Liza, is:-
"Christmas Birthday"

The aim of this challenge is to dust off and use rubber stamps that are over six months old (sorry, no digi images allowed).

I have used a Forever Friends stamp that I got free with a Docrafts magazine last Christmas. I like the little birdie on this one!  I've coloured it with Prismacolour and Polychromos pencils blended with Sansador.
Thank you to everyone who entered our "Glitter" challenge, set by Annie and I do hope you join us this fortnight.

I would like to enter this card into the challenge at Just Cute Bears and Friends where the theme is "Winter Birthday".

Allsorts Challenge - Monochrome

Good afternoon!

This week's theme a Allsorts Challenge is "Monochrome".

I've used an image called "Hmmm Chocolate" which is new from Cuddly Buddly. I've paper pieced her dress in Gingham paper and coloured the rest of her with Copic Ciaos.

Happy Monday to you all.

Cuddly Buddly Challenge #2 - DT Card

Good morning!

It's time for the second challenge at Cuddly Buddly and this fortnight's theme is "With This Paper". Kim has kindly created some beautiful Christmas papers to use to create your card.

I chose to use the pretty holly papers to make my card. The image is a pre-coloured image from the Beary Merry Christmas Designables set.

I hope you get a chance to play along - the prize for the winner is a £20 Gift Certificate to spend in the Cuddly Buddly on-line shop.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Good afternoon.

I'm feeling pretty low at the moment and my mojo is hiding away, so I thought I would try and cheer myself up by making a card for the current challenge at Penny Black Saturday which is "All My Favourite Things". After all, these are what are supposed to cheer you up according to Julie Andrews in "The Sound of Music"!

(apologies for the washed out, artificial light photo)

The favourite things I chose were:-

1. The first ever Penny Black stamp I bought which is called "Just Buzzin' By", I can't say that I have a favourite PB stamp as the position for first place is always changing, however, because it was my first, this one will always be special to me.

2. Kraft card - I love this colour, I don't use it very often as I haven't got much and don't want to run out of it!

3. Glamour Dust. One colour suits all and so easy to use.

4. Decoupage. I'm often too lazy to decoupage my images but I always think they look better when I do.

5. Clean and Simple - my favourite style of card.

Thank you visiting my blog.

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge No. 6 "Glitter" DT card

Good morning and welcome to Challenge No. 6 at Oldie but a Goodie. This fortnight's challenge is chosen by Annie and her theme is:-

"Glitter"

The aim of the Oldie but a Goodie challenges is to use stamps that are over six months old (sorry no digi's allowed).

I have used a Stampin' Up Polar Bear stamp which is probably about 6 years old. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the set.

I've used plenty of Glamour Dust and some glittered paper.

Thank you for your wonderful entries to our previous challenge and I do hope you can join us this fortnight.

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge No. 5 - DT card

Good morning,

I can't believe we have reached challenge No. 5 at Oldie but a Goodie already. This fortnight's theme has been chosen by Fleur and is:-

"Distressing"

This challenge was right up my street and I couldn't wait to get my Distress Inks out. I've used "Rusty Hinge" and "Walnut Stain" for the background paper and the image is stamped in "Walnut Stain" and colured with "Fired Brick" and "Peeled Paint".

The aim of the challenge is to ink up stamps which are over six months old so I have used this beautiful poppy from the Stampin' Up! set "Bloomin' with Beauty", the word Bloom also comes from the same set.  The background has been stamped with another Stampin' Up! stamp called "En Francais".

I do hope you can join us this fornight and many thanks to those of you who have joined us over the past four challenges.

Many thanks to our sponsor for this fortnight - DIECUT DREAMS.

Sir Stampalot November Challenge - Christmas Traditions

Good morning! It's November and time for another challenge at Sir Stampalot. This month the theme is

 "Christmas Traditions"

Once again we have a fabulous prize from our sponsors SIR STAMPALOT.

For my projects I chose Traditonal Christmas colours.

I have made up several of these Christmas sweetie jars for small gifts. I've used stamps from Waltzing Mouse and Elzybells. Each jar holds exactly half a tin of sweets which meant there were none left over for me :(

My card, using a gorgeous Toby Tumble image, isn't perhaps the most traditional of Christmas images but, again, I've used traditional colours.

Many thanks to everyone who joined us for last month's challenge, we had some super entries. I hope you are able to join in this month.

Simon Says "Give Thanks"

Good afternoon to you.

The weather is glorious here, beautiful blue skies and sunshine.

The current challenge at Simon Says is "Give Thanks".

Again, I have used my beautiful new Hero Arts "Dogwood" stamp. As this stamp came from the Simon Says store, I thought it would be a good one to use for the challenge!!

Thank you for visiting.

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge No. 4 - DT card

Good morning,

It's time for another challenge at "Oldie but a Goodie" and this fortnight sees Debs choosing the theme of

"Add a Butterfly"

We are delighted to be sponsored by Robyn's Fetish who designed the gorgeous Designer Paper I have used on my card.

The purpose of the challenge is to use a rubber stamp which is at least six months old. I have used a beautiful floral stamp from a Stampin' Up! set called "Bloomin' with Beauty". I don't think I will ever tire of this stamp set which is so versatile.

I do hope you get the chance to join us this fortnight.

Best wishes, Clare xx

Dogwood

Good afternoon.

It doesn't take much to make me happy and the arrival of a new stamp that I have wanted for ages has certainly done the trick.

I think this Hero Arts stamp S5362 "Dogwood" is beautiful.

I've stamped it on kraft card using "Vintage Sepia" versafine ink. The Waltzing Mouse sentiment is stamped with the same ink, although I wish I had placed it a bit higher up, I wrapped the kraft card around the chocolate base card and added a chocolate strip punched from a Martha Stewart "Doily Lace" card.

It's simple, but I like it, I hope you do too.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge No. 32 - Use a Freebie

Good afternoon!

I'm a happy girl because I have finished all my Cuddly Buddly sample cards and they are now packed up in a box with lots and lots of bubble wrap and lots and lots of sticky tape ready to take to the post office. If you are going to the NEC next month you might just see them on the Cuddly Buddly stand.

I am now back to making up more Christmas cards so that I don't get caught out at the last minute this year.

I am entering these into the current challenge at Crafty Cardmakers where you are asked to "Use a Freebie". I've used this sweet birdie which was a freebie image from Pink Gem Designs.

Thank you for visiting!

One more for the Christmas pile

Good afternoon!

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Warwickshire. I can't quite believe it is October as it is so warm outside. I've enjoyed a very relaxing stroll with the dog this afternoon. The dog is now flat out and I am in the mood for crafting.

I've just finished off this card that I started before my walk. I am really annoyed with myself, because I forgot that I had put glossy accents on the snowman's buttons and stuck my finger in it before it had dried and spread it across the image. I tried to rub the goo away but I just made it worse, I am keeping my fingers' crossed that the recipient of this card won't look too closely!!

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you enjoy your day whatever you are doing.

Oldie but a Goodie Challenge No. 3 - DT card

Good morning!

It's time for another challenge at Oldie but a Goodie and this time it is Tracy's turn to set the theme and she has chosen:-

"All Creatures Great and Small"

It was a lovely sunny day when I took this photo and it's made the image looked really washed out which isn't the case in real life. Poor little doggy!

I've used a stamp from Cuddly Buddly called "Oops a Daisy".  The aim of the challenge is to use a rubber stamp which is over six months old so I was really pleased to have a good reason to get some ink on this cutie again.

Gift Jar

Good morning!

I've just got back from a lovely hotel stay in Stratford-Upon-Avon with my family. The weather was beautiful and we really enjoyed ourselves. We go to Stratford quite often for a day out as it is close to where we live, but it was nice to stay there and spend a bit more time enjoying the area.

Sadly, our dog couldn't come with us but she had a wonderful time staying with her "Auntie Dawn" with three other dogs.

Here is the gift she gave to Auntie Dawn to say thank you.

I used Waltzing Mouse stamps, the tag uses a stamp from the "Fancy Phrases" stamp sheet and the label is from the "Rescue Remedies" stamp sheet. I stamped them in Imperial Purple Versafine ink which I heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I cut a Lacey Circle nestie to sit on top of the jar and layered up a flower to finish it off. The choccies are from M&S and conveniently there were a few left over which I soon munched up!

Unfortunately the holiday didn't help my cold which is now worse than before I went away!

Thank you for visiting.

Oldie but a Goodie "Pink and Girly" DT card

Good morning!

It's time to get those old stamps out as it's our second challenge at "Oldie but a Goodie" where you need to use a stamp which is over six months old.
This week's challenge is set by Lisa and she has chosen the theme of "Pink and Girly".

My main image is from Elzybells. I am still so sad that this company is no longer producing stamps. I've paper pieced the teddies outfit with digi papers from "A Patchwork of Papers - Pink" by Cuddly Buddly.

Other ingredients & tools:-

Ribbon (not sure what make but from The range)
Spellbinders: Nestabilities Circle, Nestabilites Blossom, Fancy Tags
Martha Stewart: Doily Lace border punch
Stickles glitter glue
Gem
Paper Piercer
Scor-Pal
Cardstock: Die Cuts with a View (QVC kit)
Copic Sketch and Ciao

Happy crafting to you!

Snow Family

Good evening!

Here's a quick card I made to add to my Christmas collection. It was quick because I already had this cute Cuddly Buddly Snow Family image coloured up from last year.

Ingredients:-

Image: "Snow Family" from Cuddly Buddly
Sentiment from Cuddly Buddly
Digi Papers: "Doodle Dots" from Pink Peticoat
Base card from Craftwork Cards
Nestabilities: Circle and Lacey Circle
Martha Stewart "Doily Lace" border punch
Beads and silver twine from my stash
Copic Ciaos to colour

I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I still have my cold and it's really slowing me down, I can't wait for it to go!

Tuesday Taggers

Good afternoon!

The current theme at Tuesday Taggers is "Diamonds are Forever". Now you're going to have to look closely at this one to see the diamonds!

Did you see them? I've double embossed the background card. Firstly I popped it onto my Scor-Pal and embossed diagonal lines across one way and then the other way to create a background of diamonds, then I embossed the card again in a Crafts Too floral embossing folder.

The image is from a Stampin' Up! set called "Bloomin' with Beauty". I stamped it with Versamark "Spanish Moss" ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder before colouring it with Copics.

It's another simple card but that's all I can manage at the moment. I've had a cold for a couple of weeks which has now stuck in my chest and doesn't want to shift.

Take care..

Poppy Card

Good afternoon!

Just a quick post to show my latest card.

I love flowers, who doesn't? and poppies are one of my favourites. The poppy I've used for this card is from the Stampin' Up! set "Bloomin' with Beauty". The papers are from Cuddly Buddly and the sentiment is from Waltzing Mouse.

OLDIE BUT GOODIE CHALLENGE NUMBER 1

Good morning,

Woo, hoo! I am so excited as today sees the launch of a brand new, fortnightly, challenge called "Oldie but a Goodie". The idea is to use stamps that are over six months old. I am sure you all have some of those longing to see ink again!

I am delighted to have been chosen as a member of the DT working with some very talented ladies. Please pop over and see their wonderful creations if you get a moment. We would also love you to take part in the challenge, you never know you could become the proud owner of one of our "Top Three" blinkies. Or perhaps you might be lucky and win the challenge prize.

The theme for the first challenge is "New Beginnings" and I have made a card for a new baby.

I love this sweet little baby bear by Forever Friends called "New Arrival".  I didn't forget to colour the bear, I thought she looks nice like this, left to look like a sketch.

Here's a list of the other ingredients:-

A Patchwork of Papers - Pink by Cuddly Buddly
Cuttlebug Victorian Corners
Gems
Ribbon
Sentiment from Elzybells
Base card from Craftwork Cards.

New Challenge reminder

Hello there!

I hope you all had a good weekend. I didn't get a chance to craft. However, I will have a card to share with your tomorrow when the new challenge "Oldie but a Goodie" goes live at 8.00 a.m.

This challenge will give you the chance to ink up those much loved, but possibly forgotten, rubber stamps that you've had for more than 6 months. There will be a prize and a top three so it's well worth checking out.

Enjoy your day.

Vintage Vogue

Hello,

I am long overdue writing a letter to a very special friend, so rather than email, I thought I would make a notelet and revert to old fashioned "snail mail".

I used the pretty "Vintage Vogue" stamp set from Stampin' Up! I had better get writing now!

Enjoy your day.

Sir Stampalot September Challenge DT Project

Good morning,

It's September! That means it's time for another challenge at Sir Stampalot and this month our theme is "ALL DISTRESSED".

As usual, our sponsors, Sir Stampalot, have donated a brilliant prize.

I decided to make a tag.

The stamps I used are all from Paper Artsy "Hot Picks 1004", one of my current fave stamp sets. I stamped the sentiment onto the tag using Tim Holtz Distress Ink "Aged Mahogany" and then heat embossed it with holographic embossing powder. Next I stamped the moth image randomly over the tag using Versamark ink and again heat embossed with holographic powder. I then sponged Tim Holtz Distress Inks "Antique Linen" and "Aged Mahogany" over the whole tag, starting in the centre with the Antique Linen. I love the colour of Aged Mahogany when it is sponged on, it's such a lovely pink and so different to the colour of the sentiment. Next, I spritzed the tag with a mixture of "Heirloom Gold" Perfect Pearl and water, using a Mini Mister, once the tag was dry I ran a "Galaxy Gold" Brilliance Ink pad around the edges.

The gorgeous flower stamp is from the same stamp set. I stamped this flower four times using Versamark, heat embossed with Heat It Up! "Enchanted Gold" and then sponged over each flower with Antique Linen and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks, before cutting them out and assembling them into a flower. (There are many videos and tutorials describing the process of making these flowers, including this one by our very own Brenda, leader of the Sir Stampalot challenge). Finally I added some leaves cut from vellum using  a Marianne die (LR0133), and a little heart brad.

I hope you feel inspired to join in with the challenge this month.

Simon Says "Paper Piecing"

Good evening to you,

The current challenge at Simon Says is "Paper Piecing". I just love to paper piece and couldn't resist making a card for this challenge.

Hopefully I will be able to send this card to my brother and sister-in-law very soon. Their new baby boy is overdue and should be making an appearance any day now.

I've used a Forever Friends stamp called "New Arrival", an Elzybells sentiment and digi papers "A Patchwork of Papers - Blue" from Cuddly Buddly. (Since I took this picture I have popped a foam pad under the sentiment to stop it from sagging!).

For those of you in the UK, enjoy the bank holiday tomorrow.

Allsorts - Park Inspiration

Good morning,

The challenge at Allsorts this week is to to get some inspiration from a garden or park and let that show in your work.

Gardens mean flowers to me and if I go to a park I love to see all the wonderful beds full of beautiful plants.

I've used a stamp by Penny Black 4035K 'letters and flowers'. I love this stamp but sometimes feel a bit limited by it as it is a silhouette stamp, so I decided to stamp the image in a light colour so that I could watercolour over it using Derwent Graphitint pencils. I chose memento "London Fog" ink stamped onto watercolour card and I'm really pleased with the results.  I've kept the card simple again to highlight the image. The little butterflies are the small ones from a Martha stewart Butterfly trio punch.

I hope you are enoying the weekend.

Allsorts Challenge

Hello,

The challenge at Allsorts this week is "Paper Piercing or Paper Piecing". This card combines both, the clothing is paper pieced and the edges of the paper have been pierced by the sewing machine!

The image and papers are from Cuddly Buddly - Skateboarding Boy and Peppy Papers. I resized the papers to make the pattern a more suitable scale for the boy's clothing.

Thanks for taking a look.

Another CAS "Ghosting" card

Good afternoon.

I had so much fun making yesterday's card using the "Ghosting" technique that I thought I would have another go today.

The image I have used is Penny Black "Letters and Flowers". I used Versamark Dazzle "Frost" again, as this gives a lovely sparkly sheen to the image. I brayered using Big and Juicy "Hydrangea" and lightly sponged around the edges using the same ink pad. The embossing on the base card was done using a Scor-Pal.

Thanks for visiting!

Trying out a new (to me) technique

Hello there!

Here's a simple card I made to try out a technique called "Ghosting".

Basically, this entails stamping your image in Versamark and brayering straight over it. There is no need to wait for the Versamark to dry or to heat set it in any way. It's so simple and I love the effect it gives.

I used Versamark Dazzle "Frost" and a Big and Juicy "Soothing Sunset" inkpad with a Speedball brayer. The image is a stamp by Magenta called "Lovely Meadow" and the sentiment is from an SU! set called "Oval All".

See you soon.

Happy Birthday Crafty Cardmakers!

Good afternoon!

Crafty Cardmakers are celebrating their first birthday and have therefore chosen the theme of "Birthdays" for their current theme. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU CRAFTY CARDMAKERS!

My poor fairy's wings look very dull - they aren't in real life. I've heat embossed them with kaleidescope embossing powder and they look wonderful and sparkly but unfortunately I couldn't catch this in the photo.

I've used a Lili of theValley image coloured with Copic Ciaos and a sentiment from Waltzing Mouse Stamps.

I've been put off using my 6" x 6" Core'dinations Gemstones cardstock as I only have one sheet of each colour which isn't enough to make a card with a base layer and a mat - so here's what I did to make it go that little bit further:

I cut the nestie shape for my mat from the middle of the 6" x 6" cardstock before sticking the card onto my base card.

I then cut another nestie shape, the same size, from some plain card (I've got lots of this) and stuck it in the gap left in the middle of the card to make it all level.

Finally I stuck on the Designer Paper. There's no hole for it to fall into and you would never be able to tell would you?

I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend. There's still a bit left to enjoy. I shall have an evening in front of the television watching "Sherlock".

Penny Black at Allsorts

The theme at the Penny Black at Allorts challenge this month is "Glitter and Glitz". There is also a DT call along with this month's challenge and I've put my name down - fingers' crossed!

I am still in Christmas Card mode and, for me, a Christmas card generally means lots of glitter!

I love this image, I can't help but feel happy looking at this little mouse doing his happy dance in the snow!

Here's what I used to make this card:-

Image and sentiment from Penny Black "T" for Transparent set "Holly Day Critters"
Base card blank from Craftwork Cards
Designer Papers from Papertrey Ink "Rustic Snowflakes"
Nestabilities large classic square, large classic circle, large scallop circle
Nestabilities tag trio
Lots of Glamour Dust applied with the help of a Quickie Glue Pen
Copic Ciao and Sketch for colouring (B0000, G85, G94, R27, R29, E50, E51, E53, E93, E47)
Brilliance "Moonlight White" ink to edge the largest piece of designer paper.
Gems from stash

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. It's wet, wet, wet here so we are all having a relaxing stay at home day.
