Charisma Cardz - Challenge No. 17 - 'Thank You'

Here's my card for this week's Charisma Cardz challenge - the challenge is to make anything as long as it has 'Thank you' on the front. I've used a thank you peeloff - I would have preferred to stamp but I had just a scrap of pearlised card for the label and didn't want to fluff it!

$

I've borrowed the sketch from this week's Sketch Saturday - but I'm not entering the card for this challenge as I don't think it follows the sketch closely enough. I don't have my laptop in my craft room and end up relying on my memory or scribbles to make cards for sketch challanges and sometimes I forget bits!

Thank you Linda for the gorgeous Tilda image. She's adorable.

Thank you for looking.

(my young lad has just added some interesting additions to this card using his blue wax crayon!)

Stampavie and More Challenge 41
I don't think I have ever been quite so productive with my card making. I don't know what's got into me - although I did have to give myself a bit of a talking to along the lines of "there's no point buying more craft stuff if you don't actually sit down and use what you already have".
I love this sketch from Stampavie today.

and here is the card I made following it (more or less) - I haven't added a sentiment as I want to wait and see what I use the card for.

I was back in my comfort zone making this card as there is no DP. I always panic when faced with using DP and have to make myself use it.
I got some new toys over at The Range last night which I have used - the new X-Cut butterfly punch (the larger butterfly) and another Fiskars border punch.
It's nearly time for my lad to wake up from his nap so I had better finish up on the computer for now.
Thank you for looking, I appreciate it as I do all your lovely comments.
A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #49

The challenge over at A Spoon full of Sugar this week is "Blue and Green".

Here's the card I have made for this challenge.

I'm sorry I don't know any details of the image - it's one I was kindly sent in a swap - I think it's great for the ladies.

I've used DCWV cardstock and Brenda Pinnick DP, Prima flowers with green half pearls and Glamour Dust, the sentiment is Clare Curd Papermania cut with a Spellbinders trio label.

Thank you for looking.

SKETCH & STASH CHALLENGE #9

There is a great sketch on this week's Sketch and Stash challenge and here is the card I have made following it.

As part of the challenge you have to say what "new, never used or neglected stash" you have used. The Basic Gray Cupcake DP is new - I got this last week from The Glitterpot, I was given some gold paper for Christmas and this is the first project I have used it on (the gold is matted under the triangular DP as well as the image, but this doesn't show on the photograph) and I dug out my neglected circle punch to cut the little football out of a sheet of patterned card.

I will have to be careful to make sure I give this card to a supporter of a team that wears red and white!

The stamp I have used is from Elzybells. I am sure this will come in useful for for the male cards which I find so difficult to make. The sentiment stamp is from Cuddly Buddly.

Thank you for looking and happy crafting.

CHARISMA CARDZ - Challenge #16 A Sketch by Claire

As we had nothing much to do yesterday, my OH and I took a trip to one of our local craft stores - of course I had to buy something and I couldn't resist buying the Fiskars Scalloped Lace border punch, even though I have told myself countless time that I don't need it!

I really enjoyed making this card following the sketch on this week's Charisma Cardz.

This image makes me think of my little boy and our dog. They are best of friends at the moment and love playing in the garden chasing balls.

I think next time I visit the craft shop I will be buying a Jumbo Retro Flower punch and a leaf punch - I would have used both for this card if I had them, but I guess part of the fun of crafting is the 'make do' element.

The flowers have little beads at the centres, but I don't think this shows in the photo.

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend.

Thank you for looking.

CRAFTY CREATIONS - CHALLENGE NO #12 BOOKMARKS

I simply love to read so couldn't turn down this challenge at Crafty Creations to make a bookmark.

My little boy thinks it is so funny to pull the bookmark from whichever book I am reading, so I have taken to using bookmarks that don't stick out - if he can't see them he leaves them alone - hence the slightly unconventional round bookmark.

I'm going to laminate this before I use it, but thought I would photograph it first.
Thank you Tracy at Stamping Seasons for sending me this lovely Sugar Nellie image.
Nearly the weekend! Thank you so much for looking.

PAPERTAKE WEEKLY - DAWNY'S SKETCH #13

Good afternoon. It's another glorious day and I really should be in the garden making the most of the sunshine while it is here - however, I was getting craft withdrawal and thought it about time I made another card.

This is my card following Dawny's sketch for this week's Papertake Weekly challenge.

The image is Penny Black from the Critter Party clear set. The sentiment is from the Clare Curd Papermania set. The coloured cardstock is DCWV and the embossing has been done with Cuttlebug swiss dots and a border from the 'with love' set.

Once again my photography leaves a lot to be desired!

Thank you for looking, I really appreciate it.

STAMPS AND SMILES SKETCH CHALLENGE 11

Hello everyone, from a wet and gray Warwickshire. Here is my entry for this week's Stamps and Smiles sketch.

I've moved the sketch around a little - the hearts to the right of the image instead of the left. I hope this is okay.

The image is from the "Hugs" Penny Black Transparency set and the sentiments are Clare Curd Papermania.

The gorgeous DPs are Stampin' Up, these are from the fab blog candy I won from Katrina at Whimsical Wishes.

I cut the hearts with an X-cut punch before I remembered I could have used my nesties, but I think I'm pleased I used these instead.

Thank you for taking the time to look. If you wish to comment I would really appreciate it.

MY TIME TO CRAFT CHALLENGE 57 - Becky's Sketch 3

After the lovely Easter break it's back to normal and that means I can get to my craft room. I loved the sketch on this week's My Time to Craft

and this is what I came up with (sorry it's a bit wonky and dark - one day I may get the hang of this photography lark).

I've used an Elzybells stamp - Teddy with Flowers. I love this teddy and have had lots of fun colouring him/her in in all sorts of different colours. I have quite a wishlist for Elzybells stamps now!

The papers are DCWV and Basic Grey, the sentiment is Clare Curd Papermania. Caryn of Glitter Me Silly you may recognise the DP and the ribbon - they are from the blog candy you sent me - thank you!

CREATIVE INSPIRATIONS - CHALLENGE 3 'SCALLOPS'

This week's theme at Creative Inpirations is 'Scallops'. I think I must use scallops in just about all my cards, so for this challenge I made sure there was a big scallop!

The stamp is one I got from ebay and is Stamping Bella Eloise Greengrass. I think she is so sweet.

The cardstock is Die Cuts with a View and the sentiment is a stamp from Cuddly Buddly.

Thanks for looking.

IMAGE SWAP?

Hello everyone,

I don't know about you, but I never seem to have enough stamps and right now I can't justify buying all the new ones I want!

I wondered if anyone would be interested in doing an image swap? If you are, please email me (there's a link to my email in my profile) or leave a comment and I can let you know what I've got that I can send you. I will stamp on good quality white card with Black Stazon.

I look forward to hearing from you if you are interested.

HAPPY EASTER

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 55 - Marshmallows and Chocolate

Hello everyone. The theme over at Cute Card Thursday this week is Marshmallows and Chocolate - Pink and Brown.

I wanted to join in the challenge this week to support their guest designer Jacilynn.

It's a very dull day here in Warwickshire, but I did the best I could with the picture.

The stamp is "Swinging Tilda", I think I should have been slightly heavier handed with the Prismas, although she looks more colourful in real life.

The papers are Die Cuts with a View and I've used large scallop square nesties to make the scallop edge. I've used liquid pearls and glamour dust on Tilda's wings but I don't think this shows.

The flowers are Prima - I went out and bought some yesterday after admiring the flowers that Linda of Linda's Crafty Creations uses on her fabulous cards.

Thank you for looking.

STAMPAVIE AND MORE - CHALLENGE 38

I couldn't wait to get using some of my blog candy and when I saw today's challenge at Stampavie and More with the theme of "red-white" I knew it would be perfect for the Sugar Nellie Post Box stamp that I won from Caryn at Glitter me Silly and some of the bling too.

I've only used part of the stamp, I left the post box out for this one. The colouring is with Prismacolor pencils and Sansador. I went over the dots on her hat etc with Sakura clear glaze to try and keep the red pencil off, I think it worked, but of course the glaze doesn't show in the photo.
I used the edge of a large square scallop nestie to make the scallop edge as I haven't got a scallop edger punch. The embossing was done with the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug folder, the ribbon is Anita's and I used X-cut punches to make the flowers.

I really love the colours for this challenge.

Thank you for looking and if I'm not back before "Happy Easter" to you all.

I'M A BLOG CANDY WINNER!!

I am so lucky! This morning the postman delivered to me not one, but TWO, packages.

The first was from Katrina at Whimsical Wishes - I was lucky enough to win her "Follower" candy drawn on 31st March. She sent me some gorgeous double sided papers, card blanks, buttons, ribbons and dew drops.

The second was from Caryn at Glitter me Silly, I was lucky enough to win her blog candy - to celebrate her 100th follower -drawn on 1st April. Here is what she sent me:-

I still cannot believe my luck and can't thank these two lovely ladies enough for their kindness. Please take a look at their wonderful blogs.

Thank you Caryn.

Thank you Katrina.

Watch this space for posts using these goodies.
Cupcake Craft Challenge 34 - Folds

My little boy refuses to have a nap this afternoon (something which I think will happen more regularly from now on!), so I can't retreat to my craftroom.

However, this week's challenge from Cupcake Craft is 'Folds' and here is "something I made earlier"!

I've used Scallop nesties and Die Cuts with a View paper for this. The chocolate bunnies are from Wilko's - I have a spare bag which I won't be able to resist for much longer!

Thank you for looking.

Mojo Monday 81

I love this week's sketch from Mojo Monday and had great fun making this card today.

Since I've started blogging I have been inspired to try new things. This week I distressed the edges of my paper - I thought it looked a lot distressed but in the picture it looks like I've hardly touched it! A lesson learned I think.

I got the sewing machine out again. Usually I craft when my son has a sleep so I don't tend to use the sewing machine in case it wakes him up, but today he was out with Daddy at Sainsbury's so I made as much noise as I liked!

The teddy stamp is from Elzybells, the sentiment stamp from Cuddly Buddly, the paper Dovecraft and card DCWV. The ribbon and gems are from my stash.

Thank you for looking. Happy Monday!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge

Here's my entry for the brand new Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. The theme for their first challenge is 'New Beginnings'. Check out their blog today as they are having lots of fun challenges to celebrate.

I used my largest scallop circle nestability to make the base card and cut another circle the same size to stick to the front.

The stamp is from Elzybells and is called Baby Moon. I had such a time choosing which baby stamp to buy as Elzybells have so many cute ones. I'm glad I went for this one.

The papers and sentiment are from magazines (I can't remember which ones) and I've used a brad from my stash.
Thank you for looking.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Week 43

The theme for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge is "Easter". Again, here is a card I had already made (I wanted to be organised this Easter!).

The pictures on this and the last post look a bit washed out. The colours are more vibrant in real life.
I've used:
Stamp: Penny Black
Sentiment: Computer generated
Card: DCWV
Paisley Cuttlebug folder
Woodware trimmer
Ribbon: from stash
I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - No. 26

This week's challenge from The Secret Crafter is "Stripes". I had already made this Easter card and thought it would ideal for the challenge.

Stamp: from Penny Black 'Garden Friends'
Ribbon: Anitas
Paper: K & Co
Sentiment: computer generated.

Thank you for looking.

Friday Sketchers

Here is the card I have made for this week's Friday sketchers. I loved the sketch but unfortunately I'm not very pleased with my card.

I used my new stamp "Flowery Mimi" from Pink Gem Designs and coloured her in with my pencils from Rymans and Sansador. The rectangle and tags are cut with spellbinders dies and the sentiment is computer generated. The lilac rectangle has been embossed with a Cuttlebug Paisley folder and the paper is Dovecraft.

I have a long way to go with my card making to come anywhere near many of you very talented people - but I do enjoy myself!

Thank you for taking the time to look.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Easy as 1-2-3!?

Here is my take on this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge.

The recipe for this week is:-
1 - circle
2 - ribbons
3 - stamps/images

I have more than 1 circle and more than 2 ribbons on my card as I have taken the recipe to mean "at least" rather "exactly", I hope this is ok!

For the three stamps I have stamped and cut out "Giggle Milly" which I got from Pink Gem Designs on ebay (1), I have also used the flowers on this stamp for the background (2) and I have used a sentiment stamp from Cuddly Buddly (3).

There are lots of circles from nestabilities, Cuttlebug Bloom Dots embossing folder and the sentiment (as above).

The ribbons are on the Giggle Milly stamp.

Thank you for looking.
