Elzybells flowers and help please

Good afternoon,

Here's another simple card. I would love to add loads of embellishments as I really admire the beautifully embellished cards that I see in blogland, but it just isn't me and doesn't come naturally.

The sweet images I have used are from Elzybells and the fab sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly.

I am entering this into:-

Lili of the Valley Challenge - Here comes Summer

Allsorts Challenge - photo inspiration (the photo shows brightly coloured butterflies flying around and makes me think of summer with all the various insects flying around the flowers)

Our Creative Corner - Blossoms

That's my card, now I would love your help please. My question is, do I need the new Tim Holtz distress inks? I just can't make up my mind. Are they such wonderful colours that I would never regret buying them, or can I make do perfectly well with the original colours that I already have. If you have them, which ones are your favourite? I would love to know what you think.

Thank you for visiting my blog today and for any comment you may leave, I really appreciate all your comments and love to read them.

Hugs, Clare xx

Hi Clare

Now me thinks you are going to wish I never popped int to this post.

TH inks. Hmmmmmmm, you know I am addicted, I loved all the original ones, but the new ones really do fill holes that were missing, such as budled sage, a wonderful green, Victorian velvet the pink that was noticeable in it's absence and then there is rusty hinge a gorogeous colour.......shall I shut up now ? Probably best.

Your card, beautiful in it's simplistic elegance. I know just what you mean about embellies, I too find it hard at times.

Clare this is just lovely, less is definitely more here, just the perfect combination. I have about 17 of the original THoltz and have just ordered two of the new ones. The colour I thought lacking was definitely the pink shades, but I do love them.

Beautiful card! I love simple and elegant. Some of the cards with piles of embellishments are a bit OTT for my liking. This is perfect! Distress inks... You definitely need the three that Brenda has mentioned. I bought spun sugar (a lovely delicate pink) and tumbled glass (like broken china but paler and more sky like) too. I'm now wondering if I need any more!!!

Hi Clare,
Sorry for my lack of visits for the mo...too much work to be done in the house and as I tend to get carried away when i turn on blogger I have tried to keep the PC off till I get my jobs done, then i imagine I will have tonnes to catch up on....
Really love the card...I think the green backing is a lovely compliment to the images...Gorgeous job!!!

As for the TH...I don't have them all but couldn't resist Rusty hinge and Tumbled glass so made them my first choice from the new set...
I promise you won't be disappointed, they are lush

catch up with you soon

I think your style is perfect. Not everything needs embellished to within an inch of it's life!

Don't have any of those inks I'm afraid so can't help.

This is stunning Clare. I love your style and I think you could probably try doing lots of embellies and not be happy with what you've done. Everyone's different and you do lovely elegant cards.

As for the Distress Inks some of the new ones are really gorgeous. As other people have mentioned - bundled sage, victorian velvet, spun sugar and tumbled glass are all beautiful.

Very elegant card Clare. I know what you mean about the embellie laden cards, I love them when other people have made them but not so keen, always feel they are a bit OTT when I try and make them.
Not got any of the new distress inks YET!

I love your elegant card Clare. I too find it difficult to load on the embellies most of the time. I wouldn't worry if I were you though. This card is perfect as it is and I love the clean, fresh look of it.

As for the TH Distress Inks, I'm sorry but you're going to regret asking. I have them all and I love every one. Victorian Velvet and Bundled Sage are stunning, but a 'dull' colour like Pumice Stone definitely fills a necessary hole. There isn't one single colour that I don't like. If you like the original DIs you need the new ones.

I love your card, and I love clean simple lines too. I also struggle with the fancy flowers and embellishments and have decided to leave that style to those that do it so well. I am sure there is room for those of us that like to keep things simple and still beautiful.

Love your card Claire - the simplicity of this layout is beautiful and it's definitely your style!! The colours together are gorgeous!
I have all the new TH distress ink colours and absolutely LOVE them! My faves are definitely wild honey, victorian velvet, brushed sage & stormy sky. If you do get any you certainly won't regret it!

I can't help with the TH stuff, Claire but I CAN beg you not to change your style ... this card is fab and wouldn't be 'you' if it was covered in bits. I love your simple, elegant creations just as they are. Love LizCx
